Water and Sanitation Agency (Wasa) will launch three projects at an estimated cost of Rs 176 million to ensure smooth discharge of effluent from the industrial city of Faisalabad.

Wasa Director Construction-II, Ijaz Ahmad Randhawa said on Wednesday that a sewerage line would be laid from Akbarabad chowk to Pharang drain with estimated cost of Rs 90 million and would be completed within a period of one year.

Another sewerage line from Nishatabad to Sumbal Chowk would also be laid with an estimated cost of Rs 35 million, he said, adding that Rs 51 million has also been allocated for Nishatabad to Dry Port line and construction of pumping station. The official said that these projects would help in improving the overall sanitation system in the city.
